Unit4 Where would you like to visit? 教案

. 分析教材

本单元对于学生来说是比较生动有趣的,它要谈论的主要话题是喜欢去旅游的地方。初三学生正处于好动的时期,对旅游自然很感兴趣,而且本单元涉及到了大量的世界各地的旅游胜地,如:尼亚加拉大瀑布,巴黎,亚马逊丛林等等,学生们都迫切地想要了解它们。教学过程中可以进行适当补充,既提高了学生的学习兴趣,又开阔了学生的眼界。

. 重难点分析

1. 本单元重点:一是单词,词汇量比较大,单词也比较难,可采取课上课下结合的方式突破单词这一关。另外学习课文时要反复用到大部分生词,这同样可以帮助同学们分散地记住它们。二是定语从句,这一语法在上一单元已经学过,但在本单元也反复出现,旨在帮助学生更好地理解和使用它。

2. 难点:自测中的第二部分:写作,图中提到的四处名胜学生知之甚少,直接写学生可能会无处下手,所以我要先给学生简单补充一下相关知识,使他们有所了解,并鼓励他们查阅资料,如:地理书,杂志,或上网查阅。这样即可以帮助学生写出更好的文章,又丰富了他们的知识。

The first period

Step 1:Today we’ll say goodbye to Unit 3 and begin to learn Unit4.This unit is very interesting and I believe you will like it.

Step 2:Show the tasks in this class:

1. Master the new words.

2. Talk about places you’d like to visit.

Step3:First,let’s learn the new words in this unit.

1. Read the new words with your deskmates.

2. Listen to the tape and read after it.

3. Ask some good students to lead the others to read the new words.

4. Practice and try to remember the new words .

利用半节课时间学单词学生肯定无法完全掌握,但足以学会正确地读它们,可让学生课后再接着练,而且在本单元以后的学习中会反复用到这些生词,还可以帮学生们分散地记住它们。

Step 4:1.Have you ever visited Nanshan? What do you think of it?(让学生们尽量地回忆起相关的形容词)

2.May Day is coming, there are two places you can choose to go to. Look at Poster 1,can you understand it? And Poster 2?(让学生用自己的语言理解海报的内容。如:Poster 1means you can relax on the beach in Florida.)

3. Look at the adjectives in 1a,if you choose Vacation 1,how will you feel? And Vacation2? Now fill in the chart.

4. Then where would you like to visit on vacation, Florida or the jungle? Why? Talk with your deskmates.

5. Do you want to know where Sam and Gina would like to go on vacation? Listen to the tape and fill in the chart.

6. Where would you like to go on vacation? (eg: the Great Wall, Hawaii,Summer Palace, Mountain Tai etc.) Talk about it in groups. Prepare for it after class and make a conversation.

Step 5: Homework

Practice the new words in this unit and make the dialogue.

The second period

Step 1:Have a free talk to check the knowledge they learned in last class.

Step 2:Listening practice

1. 2a Listen and number the statements in the right order.

2. 2b Listen and match each place with a reason.

3. Explain the use of “hope”.

hope to do sth hope+从句

eg: I hope to visit Hawaii some day .

I hope that I can visit Hawaii some day .

Step 3:Use the informations in activities 2a and 2b to role play conversations .

Step 4:Do you know Paris? Do you like it ? Today let’s learn about Paris ,then I want you to tell me if you still like it ,OK ?

1. Read 3a , circle the things you like about visiting Paris, underline the things you don’t like .

2. Read it again , then discuss in groups and try to understand the whole article .

3. Students ask questions and help them to answer ,explain some for them .

(1) consider doing sth

(2) quite an expensive place

(3) Unless you speak French yourself ,……….=If you dont speak French yourself……

4. Use your own words to introduce Paris to me according to the article .

Step 5: Look at 3b , practice the conversation below .Then make new conversations with the information in the box .Prepare for it with your partners .

Step 6:Homework

Think of a city you know .Make a list of things you like and things you don’t like about the city .Report to the class next class .

The third period

Step 1:Report your homework to the class .

Step 2:Class , if you are on vacation ,what is important to you ?Think hard and fill in the chart in Section B ,Part 1 .(Help students find the correct English words to express their idea .)

Step 3: Listening practice 2a and 2b .(2b 比较难,可采用分成小段听的方式解决。)

Step 4:Role play Jeff’s conversations according to 2a like this :

A: Where would you like to go ?

B: I’d like to go somewhere warm .

A: What else can you tell me ?

B: I don’t want ……..

Step5: 1.Let’s have a test , look at 3a , read the e-mail message .Then read the statements about the e-mail , write “T” for “TRUE”, “F” for “FALSE” or “DK” for “DON’T KNOW” for each one .Let’s see who is the cleverest .

2.Read the e-mail again ,then discuss in groups and try to understand it .

3. The students ask questions .

Questions they may ask :

(1) take a trip 旅行

(2) provide sb with sth 提供给某人某物

(3) travel to spl 去某地旅行

(4) It would be nice if our hotel had rooms with kitchens .(虚拟语气,注意动词形式。)

4. Students read the e-mail again and think about one question : Where do you think S.T.Zhang should go on vacation?

Step 6: 1.Ask some students to answer the question , help them to answer why they think so .

2.Write an e-mail to S.T.Zhang with your ideas , tell her where she should go and why .

4. Ask some students to read their e-mail messages to the class .

Step 7: Homework : A test paper

1. I’d like to go somewhere _______(relax) .

2. Why not consider _______(visit) Sydney ?

3. Hongkong is one of _______(lively) cities in Asia .

4. It’s not cold in Kunming .You need _______(pack) light clothes .

5. Beijing is very beautiful .It has a lot of ______(spot) .

6. New York is _______(fascinate) .

7. The room needs _______(is)big enough for three people .

8. Could you please give me some ________(suggest) for the plan ?

9. I’d like _____ (take) a trip somewhere in the west of china .

10. He hopes _______ (achieve) his dream as soon as possible .

The fourth period

Step 1:Check the answers of the test paper.

Step 2: 1.Now,we're going on vacation. Where would you like to go?(Ask one student)

S: I'd like to go to the Great Wall.

T: Why ?

S: Because it is ......

2.Ok,look at Part4 on P27,there are three places you can choose. Where would you like to go? Why? You may ask three classmates and finish the survey.

3.Report to the class like this:

Lucy would like to go to the Stone Forest in Yunnan, because it is neither cold nor hot, and it's relaxing.

Step 3:Self Check

1.Part1, fill in the blanks ,then make sentences with each words.(Help the students correct their mistakes.)

2.Look at the pictures. Do you know what they are? Do you know where they are?(Help them know about these places.)

3.Which of these places would you like to visit most ? Write an article about why would you like to go there.(将其作为作业,因为要写好这篇文章学生需要查阅一些资料)

Step 4:Learn the new words in Reading. First learn to read them , then practice and master them.

Step 5:Homework

Finish the article in Self Check

The fifth period

Step 1:Ask some students to read their article to the class. Help them correct their mistakes.

Step 2:1.Do you know what "hope" is and what "dream" is? Work in pairs to discuss the differences between a "hope" and a "dream".

2.Explain that a hope is something we wish to happen in the future, and is attainable if certain things happen or are done. A dream is something more out of ordinary, and often seems more unattainable.

3.Think of a hope and a dream, share them with the classmates .

Step 3:1.Now, lets see what other teenagers think about hope and dream.

2.Read the article slowly , underline key points as you read to remember what you read.

3.Read faster the second time you read, then answer the questions in 3b without looking back at the reading.

4.Discuss in groups and try to understand the article .

5.The students ask questions.

6.The points they need to pay attention to :

(1) dream of/about sth/doing sth 梦想(做)某事

(2) answers to the question

(3) as soon as possible=as soon as sb can

eg: You should run as fast as possible.=You should run as fast as you can.

(4) continue doing sth=go on doing sth

(5) according to sth

(6) achieve the dreams 实现你的梦想

(7) hold on to your dream 坚持你的梦想

(8) be willing to do sth 乐意做某事

Step 4:Homework

Whats your dream ? How can you achieve it ? Talk with each other and list the small steps you could take to do so .
