Unit 3 I like music that I can dance to

分析教材

本册书共8个单元,Unit 3是其中一个重要的单元,在全册教材中起着承上启下的作用,它要求学生学会如何表达自己偏爱的东西,为其后谈论自己想做的事情、叙述过去的事件打下基础。谈论的主要话题是谈论自己或别人的偏爱,学习的语法项目是定语从句。

分析学生

初三的学生是第一届课程标准实验教科书的使用者,在初一的第一学期三分之一的学生就掉队了,随着知识的增加,在初二上学期又有一部分学生落伍,班级明显出现了两极分化,学生学习英语的兴趣因品尝不到成功的乐趣几乎丧失殆尽,由于基础较差,问题便接踵而至,学习能力不能得到正常的发挥,学习的主观能动性因此而大打折扣,这不但影响学生积极向上,也给教师的教学带来了冲击,给我们教师提出了新的挑战:教师应该面对学生目前的实际情况,极力调整自己的心态,永远坚信——教学的艺术不在于传授的本领,而在于激励、唤醒、鼓舞。

根据教材内容和学生现有的知识基础,估计这一单元学生在学习过程中可能会遇到的困难是:

1)引导定语从句的关系代词、关系副词及用法。

2that which 引导的定语从句及两者之间的差异。

学生的学习策略

1)激活学生的内驱力,这是重中之重,否则教师的一切努力都是徒劳的。

2)采用情境教学法,充分利用多媒体教学手段,直观再现知识点,分门别类,让学生一目了然。

3)利用课前5分钟俩俩会话的机会,强化口语训练,注重循环往复。

4)发挥小组学习的优势,便于产生整体的学习效应。

5)反复抓,抓反复是关键。

教学过程:

The First Period (Learn the new words in Unit 3)

1 Daily talk

2Learn the new words after the teacher.

3Explain the new words , especially the following:

prefer, remind of, display , interest.

whatever, energy honest, expect

prefer: preferred preferred preferring,

prefer A to B

prefer doing go doing

prefer to do rather than do

remind of: remind of sb/sth remind sb. of sb/sth.

display: be on display

interest: interest sb. What interests sb is ……

wiht (great) interest

be interested in , take/have/show (an) interest in

interest用法相似的还有:

excite exciting excited

frustrate frustrating frustrated

surprise surprising surprised

disappoint disappointing disappointed

whatever——no matter what

whenever ——no matter when

wherever ——no matter where

however——no matter how

energy: adj. energetic

honest: n. honesty

expect: expect to do sth.

expect sb. to do sth.

expect that clause

4Ask the ss to read the words, phrases and sentences above after the teacher.

5Homework: Make similar sentences with the words out of class.

5Ask the ss to read the phrases and sentences aloud after the teacher.

Make some similar sentences orally.

6Listen to the tape and check the answers.

Ask some ss to make dialogues like 1C with the teacher.

7Change music into subject /book /magazine to finish the dialogues

music/subject music/book music/magazine

Let the ss make full use of their imagination to finish the dialogues.

Remind the ss to watch the changes about the following sentences :

I prefer music which I can sing along with I prefer music with which I can sing

让学生自己说出通过观察看到的句子的变化,并加以归纳

先行词是物的时候,关系代词既可以是that 也可以是which ,that which 都可以做主语和宾语,但介词只可以提到which 的前面,不可以提到 that 的前面.

8Sum up the points :

that引导的定语从句在从句中做主语时,从句的谓语动词的人称和数必须和先行词一致,在从句中做动词宾语时,往往可以省略;在做介词宾语时,介词可以提到which 的前面。

3Ask three quarters of the students to make dialogues with me to practice like this:

A: What kind of books do you like?

B: I like books that are about Chinese medicine . What about you?

A: I like books that tells about grammar.

Check the homework given last period :

强调先行词是物时,只能用that 不能用which 的六种情形:

(1) 序数词或最高级形容词修饰先行词时

(2) something ,anything ,nothing ,everything ,all 等不定代词做先行词时

(3) 先行词同时包含人或物时

(4) 当先行词被the only ,the very ,the same 等修饰时

(5) 当主句以who which 开头时

4Come to the new lesson.

Tell the ss my favorite singer /musician /teacher /film star and so on like this:

I like singers who sing the words clearly

I prefer musicians who play different kinds of music

I love teachers that make their lessons lovely and interesting.

I can't stand musicians whom they can’t write their own lyrics.

5Complete the sentences together with the ss

他们想要访问的那个男士是个电影明星。

这就是救我性命的那个医生。

黄阿姨照顾的那个小孩病了。

在会上讲话的那个妇女是小王的妈妈。

强调先行词是“人的时候,关系代词可以用that who whom ,介词可以放在whom 的前面

Ask the ss to fill in the blanks :

He's the man I want to see.

The children the teacher is playing basketball

6 Give the answers to the ss (1.that /who /whom 2. ( with whom)

Emphasize: Show the ss that a person should be followed by who ,whom ,that

Emphasize the following sentences :

This is the doctor who/that saved my life.

The man who/that/fwhom they want to see is a film star.

7Exercises:

(1)Have you received the letter .(我两周前写的)

(2)Where’s the man . (教你英语)?

(3)The book that I borrowed it from the library is well written. (改错)

(4)The watch which her mother gave it to her works well.(改错)

(5)The river they crossed is 20 meters long.(填关系代词)

(6)The nurse is very kind.

She looks after my little sister.(连句)

(7)The train started at 4:50 P.M.

Li Ming missed it. (连句)

(8)I know the girl . Her father is a doctor.(连句)

Get the ss to have a group discussion and then make similar ones .

Do the exercises together with the ss .

Emphasize: 鲁迅曾经住过的这所房子,现在是鲁迅博物馆。

8Remind the ss to pay attention to the following :

关系代词who/whom引导的定语从句。

在这类定语从句中who用作主语,whom用作宾语,whose用作定语。做介词宾语时,介词可放在whom之前。
